Brad Blake is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer
of Blake Hunt Ventures, a private commercial real estate
development and services company based in Danville, California.
Blake Hunt Ventures has developed over $750 million of
retail projects since its inception and is currently developing
over $300 million of retail and mixed-use, retail-residential
projects in the San Francisco Bay Area, Northern California
and Utah.
Mr. Blake was the former Chairman, President and Chief
Executive Officer of Western Properties Trust from February,
1998 to November, 2000. Western was a publicly-traded
real estate investment trust that merged with Pan Pacific
Retail Properties in November of 2000. Western owned and
operated 55 properties, mostly grocery-anchored shopping
centers, encompassing 5.5 million square feet in California,
Oregon, Washington and Nevada.
Mr. Blake was also formerly Managing Director of Pacific
Retail Trust and President of PRT Development Corp. (1996-98),
Senior Vice President of Spieker Properties (1993-96),
Partner with Spieker Partners (1988-93), and a Project
Director with Trammell Crow Company (1985-87). Prior to
that he worked for IBM and McKinsey and Company.
Mr. Blake holds a B.A. from Stanford University (1980)
and a M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School
of Business (1985).
Mr. Blake is a board member of Tony La Russa's Animal
Rescue Foundation, a director of Bailard's REIT's, a former
member of the Young Presidents Organization, a former
Trustee of the International Council of Shopping Centers
and a member of the Urban Land Institute.
He is the founder and president of the "College
is Real" program (www.collegeisreal.com) at Richmond
High School, which helps members of the school's soccer
program with academic and life skills so they can qualify
for college. He has coached youth soccer for fifteen years
and participates in a variety of sports.
Jerry
Hunt - Co-founder, President and Chief Operating Officer
Jerry Hunt is the co-founder and President of Blake Hunt
Ventures. Mr. Hunt was most recently Senior Vice President
and Chief Operations Officer of Western Properties Trust
from February 1998 to November 2000.
Prior to joining Western, from December 1996 to January
1998, Mr. Hunt was Vice President of Northern California
operations for Pacific Retail Trust (subsequently acquired
by Regency Realty in 1999). From January 1994 to December
1996, Mr. Hunt was a Project Director with Spieker Properties
in its retail division acquiring, developing, leasing
and managing shopping center projects in the San Francisco
Bay Area. Mr. Hunt began his real estate career in August
1988 as a retail specialist with CB Commercial Real Estate
in San Jose. Mr. Hunt is a graduate of the University
of Pacific (B.A. in 1988). He is the Northern California
State Director of the International Council of Shopping
Centers. He is also an Executive Director of the Belden
Real Estate Club in San Francisco. He is active in coaching
girl’s softball and in contributing to other community
service organizations.
Jim
Wright - Senior Vice President
Jim Wright is Senior Vice President for Blake Hunt Ventures.
Mr. Wright was most recently Senior Development Manager
of Western Properties Trust from 1991 to November 2000.
He also held property management and leasing positions
with Western. Prior to joining Western, Mr. Wright was
a development manager for a large Sacramento-based retail
developer. He holds a Certified Shopping Center Manager
(CSM) designation from ICSC and is a licensed real estate
agent.
Since November 2000 when Blake Hunt Ventures was formed,
Mr. Wright has been responsible for the day-to-day entitlements,
design, construction and leasing of two high-density retail
centers in downtown Walnut Creek, California. The projects,
Plaza Escuela and Olympia Place, have a combined gross
leasable area of just under 300,000 square feet and opened
in spring of 2002 and spring of 2003, respectively. During
his career, Mr. Wright has overseen the entitlements,
construction, leasing and management of over 1,000,000
square feet of commercial and retail projects.
Rajiv Parikh - Senior Vice President
Rajiv Parikh is Senior Vice President for Blake Hunt Ventures. He was most recently CEO and President of KAS Properties. Prior to launching KAS Properties, Mr. Parikh was Vice President of SIMEON Commercial Properties, a full-service real estate firm that develops and acquires retail, office, R&D and mixed-use properties in strategic in-fill locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. His primary responsibilities included entitlement processing, leasing, project management and asset management.
Prior to joining SIMEON in January 2003, Mr. Parikh was Senior Vice President of Syufy Enterprises, a privately owned developer and parent company of Century Theatres, where his responsibilities included entitlement processing, leasing and project/construction oversight. Prior to joining Syufy Enterprises, Mr. Parikh was an attorney with the law firm of McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen, as well as a deputy city attorney for the City and County of San Francisco, focusing on land use, environmental and real estate matters.
Mr. Parikh received his B.A. from the University of California - Berkeley in 1989 and his J.D. from Georgetown University in 1993. He is the Chair of the Program Committee for the Northern California section of ICSC and has spoken at numerous seminars on behalf of ICSC and other organizations regarding commercial real estate matters.
John
A. Reynolds - Vice President
John A. Reynolds is Vice President for Blake Hunt Ventures.
Mr. Reynolds joined Blake Hunt Ventures in February 2002.
Since then, he has been responsible for various stages
of entitlements, leasing, construction, and management
for many of Blake Hunt Ventures’ projects.
Mr. Reynolds is a graduate of Michigan State University
(B.A. in 2000). He is on the Northern California International
Council of Shopping Centers Next Generation Program Committee
and is a member of the Urban Land Institute. He is also
a licensed real estate agent.
